INTRODUCTION TO INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY PROGRAM

1. Overview

      Information Technology (IT) is considered as the platform of digital transformation which Vietnamese government and enterprises are creating. The curriculum aims at providing students knowledge and skills in information technology, especially catching up new issues in data analysis, artificial intelligence, information safety and security, as well as new problems in network engineering.

           Educational philosophy of the discipline is Learning by Design.

2. Expected learning outcomes

    The Information Technology curriculum aims at providing students with basic scientific knowledge, basic and specialized knowledge about IT to:

+ About knowledge

-  apply knowledge of math, science for IT.

-  analyze IT problems to solve.

- design, develop, and operate IT systems in accordance with the requirements of organizations and enterprises.

+ About skills

- work as a team member or leader to achieve common goals.

- communicate in multimedia with different audiences.

- apply critical thinking, technical thinking, systematic thinking while working.

- self-research to catch up continuous changes in the IT field.

- use of modern techniques and necessary tools in the IT field well.

+ About attitude

- respect the law, show social responsibility and practice the professional ethics of IT engineers

- learn for personal and professional development continuously.

4. Income

      The Ministry of Information and Communication reported in the ICT White Paper that the average income of employees on software has increased from $6,215/person/year in 2015 to $6,849/person/year in 2016, reaching $7,570/person/year in 2017 and reaching $8,578/person/year in 2018.

     After graduating from this major, students can easily find jobs in positions such as consultants, designers, simulation analysts, technical operators at units/organizations on technology and information such as

- Engineer designing, building,  and managing IT projects.

- Engineer analyzing data and applying information for improving business performance and decision making.

- Engineer developing applications in social fields as.
